“Choose with care” is the last chapter of the journey undertaken by Irene Buselli’s first album, “Io, io, io”, a year after its release.
This song shares the album’s introspective drive, the evocation of the body as a mirror of feeling and the delicate intensity of the interpretation. At the same time, however, if “Io, io, io” begins by describing a voice that is “so thin”, this latest single leans towards a vocality that gradually becomes fuller, angrier, more powerful.
The song was presented live last October 19th on the Ariston stage, on the occasion of the final evening of the 2024 Tenco Prize.
Released by the Genoese Pioggia Rossa Dischi, “Scegli con cura” is a song in which, as with the entire debut album, “words are important”, aimed at building images that can evoke very specific sensations. Like that “everything hurts” which becomes obsessive, almost cathartic.
“This time there are no invented characters, no cumbersome metaphors, no puns. There’s just me, with my chest mercilessly wide open like on the cover.
Ultimately, the song also talks about this necessary absence of defenses: we cannot keep everything locked inside, maintain control of everything, let ourselves be inhabited endlessly by all the thoughts, the remorse, the prudence.
All my life I thought that the point was to have strong shoulders, to hold all the weights on them and resist impacts – only recently, and with difficulty, did I understand that it is better to have light shoulders, even if only to avoid making the wings sore .
