The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that the current cholera outbreak in Ethiopia has so far left about 300 dead.

According to the entity’s most recent bulletin, cited by Xinhua, the disease has been reported in 113 districts in ten regions of the country.
This outbreak, which was reported on August 27, 2022, has caused the death toll to increase from 172 last July to 300 as of October 3.

Likewise, the number of cholera cases increased from 13,118 in the report to 24,197, according to the most recent report on the aforementioned period.
The entity also specified that, so far, the mortality rate of the identified cases is 1.24 percent.
Despite the progress that has been made to control the cholera outbreak in the country, the text warns about the appearance of new cases in several districts.
More than 6 million people have already received a dose of the oral cholera vaccine in some 54 districts in Ethiopia.
