The police were notified of the escaped snake at 20.28.
– This is probably the first time I have tweeted about a strangler snake. There are many pets that disappear, but this was a new twist, says operations manager Knut Odde in Agder police district to TV 2.
#Kristiansand At 2028 A strangler snake has managed to get out from an address on Hamreheia. Something unclear when this has happened. It is about 1.5 meters long and 10-15 cm in circumference – it is NOT toxic. Call the police on 02800 if you see it.

The snake has sneaked out the window, and the 1.5 meter long reptile is now at large in the streets of Kristiansand.
– The reason why we go out with this is that the public can be a little obsessed with them before they notice it. It is not toxic, but it is a relatively large matter. This is not something that is very common in Norwegian nature, says operations manager Odde.
The operations manager says that the strangler snake is a legal pet, and asks any Christiansanders who observe it to contact the police.
– Stay away and call the police on 02800, says Odde.
It is unclear exactly when the snake snuck out into the open. The police are therefore not actively searching for the strangler, but say that the owner is out looking.
– I reckon we would have been contacted if someone had seen it, Odde concludes.
