On 16 January, everything went wrong when Imogen Lennon (5) was to be driven home from swimming in the small town of Canowindra in New South Wales.
Lennon loved hot dogs, and ate a frankfurter while she sat in the back seat.
It was the mother, Sam Lennon, who drove, writes the Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph.
Suddenly the five-year-old stuck the sausage in his throat, and couldn’t breathe.
Mora stopped abruptly, and threw herself into the back seat to save the girl.
No ambulance
Mora called an ambulance, and got a random passerby to help her.
As the ambulance was far from the small town, the mother ended up driving Imogen to the hospital herself.
Imogen’s life could not be saved, and she was quickly pronounced dead.
– Ulf (52) beaten to death
– There are no words
– Imogen was a sharp, determined, loving and “sassy” five-year-old, who unfortunately got her angel wings on Monday 16 January in the most tragic and unimaginable way.
That’s what a family friend writes on GoFundMe.
The family friend has created a fundraiser at website to raise money for the funeral expenses of the bereaved.
At the time of writing, over NOK 160,000 has been collected.
– There are no words that can describe how devastated Imogen’s family is, says Harrison, and continues:
– It is impossible to imagine a life without Imogen.
