“I confirm that Professor Blanka Kulínská died yesterday evening. She was ill for a long time, I don’t want to comment in more detail,” Věra Hrdinková, artistic director and choirmaster of the Children’s Choir, where Kulínská worked, told Seznam Zprávy.
–
Blanka Kulínská (née Bicanová) was born in 1935 in Chlaponice. In the years 1954–1973, she worked as a choirmaster in the Children’s Choir of the Czechoslovak Radio, which was founded and led by her husband, Bohumil Kulínský Sr. When the couple’s radio work was terminated in 1973, Kulínská founded and led the children’s choir Bambini di Praga together with her husband.
–
Her son Bohumil Kulínský Jr. subsequently became the main choirmaster of Bambini di Praga. She returned to the choir again between 2004 and 2011, when the trial of Kulínský Jr., who was accused of sexually abusing female choir members in 2004, was ongoing. In 2011, the choir Bambini di Praga ceased its activities.

In 2010, Kulínská received the prize of the Czech Music Council for her lifelong contribution to the development of children’s choral singing.
