The appellate court, which sentenced Chairman Choi to the “worst outcome” in May, announced that the amount of support was 21.9 billion won. Looking at the details, it is known that it includes children’s education expenses, Chairman Choi’s personal employee awards, congratulatory and condolence expenses, contributions to public interest foundations, and living expenses.

Excluding these amounts, the actual amount of money given to Chairman Kim is very small. The analysis is that there is a significant discrepancy from this lawyer’s claim of 100 billion won.

As this lawyer has been transferred to the prosecution, questions are growing about whether he spread information that is close to false information.

Some say that this lawyer is ‘taking the blame for the public opinion war against Noh So-young.’ It is said that during the divorce lawsuit appeal process, unreasonable measures were taken to create negative perceptions and public opinion about Chairman Choi and Chairman Kim and to secure an advantageous aspect in the lawsuit.

Attorney Lee and Director Noh have a ‘special relationship’. An official from the legal community commented, “Because Director Noh and Attorney Lee are from the ‘same family,’ it was unusual for a lawyer to work too hard.” This lawyer is the son-in-law of former Minister Park Cheol-eon. Former Minister Park is the brother-in-law of former President Roh Tae-woo, Director Roh’s father, King Gojong. During President Roh’s administration, he was called the ‘Sixth Prince’.

This lawyer is also connected to an incident a few years ago where he organized a ‘malicious comment unit’ against Chairman Choi and Chairman Kim and spread false information. This lawyer defended former Future Society Chairman Kim Heung-nam, who led the comments at the time. Attorney Lee served as a judge at the Seoul Southern District Court and the Seoul Central District Court in the 23rd class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute before opening his own law practice in 2008. In 2020, he joined PyeongAn Law Firm and took full charge of Director Roh’s large and small lawsuits. It is known that he is currently working as a private attorney.

The legal community is closely watching this case as it is extremely rare for a lawyer to be indicted on charges of spreading false information to the media. If this lawyer is sentenced to imprisonment or a suspended sentence, he or she will be deprived of his or her license as a lawyer.
