Chocolate with cakes on the hill for snacks in Santa Águeda and Santa Apolonia

On the occasion of the festivities of Santa Águeda and Santa Polonia, on February 5 and 9, the Brotherhood of San Isidro has organized a series of events in his honor, with the aim of recovering the traditional snacks and incidentally raising funds for a solidarity end.

On snack days, the hermitage of San Isidro will open from 3:30 p.m., so that those who venerate the Saints can do so. In addition, the brotherhood will distribute chocolate with cakes at the symbolic price of one euro.

These cakes, 700 in total according to reports from the Brotherhood, will be blessed on Sunday, the 5th, at 1:00 p.m., in the Church of San Francisco, where the Holy Mass will take place in honor of Santa Águeda and Santa Apolonia.

After last year’s success, the Brotherhood has improved the organization and logistics of the events, preparing 90 liters of chocolate and 700 cakes. In the same way, with the collaboration of the City Council, tables and chairs will be provided for those groups of friends or families who want to go up to have a snack in the surroundings of the hermitage.

OVEN OF 12 EGGS

This year, as a novelty, attendees will be able to participate in the raffle for a 12-egg oven and 6 liters of chocolate, which will take place at 6:00 p.m. on February 5 and 9. To participate in it, on the hill, tickets will be sold for the amount of €1, the entire proceeds of which will be donated to the association “Las Supernenas”, a group of people affected by breast cancer.

The Brotherhood of San Isidro wants to invite the residents of Alcázar to participate in the different acts, as well as to recover the traditional snacks that, for many years, have been celebrated on the occasion of the festivities of Santa Águeda and Santa Apolonia.
