Chlorine vapors are dangerous to humans, as they strongly irritate the respiratory system, eyes, and skin. Signs of chlorine poisoning: sharp pain in the chest, dry cough, vomiting, pain in the eyes, watery eyes, impaired coordination of movements.

At the same time, the Russian TASS agency reported that a water curtain was installed on the outskirts of Izhevsk against the release of chlorine. According to preliminary data, there is no threat to the residential sector of the city.

It is already known that about 800 kilograms of chlorine were thrown out from the Izhvodokanal water lifting station.
