Songwriter, singer and actress Chloé Bird (Cáceres, 1991) has just published his last EP, entitled ‘Parénthesis’, made up of four songs about absence and emptiness told from the calm. Precisely, after months of silence and withdrawal from the musical world, with all the noise that surrounds him, Chloé returns from the essence and the root without artifice, “for the pleasure of music, without more”, reveals to this newspaper.
This is his sixth job in ten years, after ‘October moon’ (EP, 2013), ‘The darkest corners of my soul’ (LP, 2015), ‘A World of Weird Children’ (family audience, LP, 2017), ‘The light in between’ (LP, 2018) y ‘Flowers and Debris’ (2021), which add over a million listeners on Spotify.

On this occasion, with the production of the multi-instrumentalist Raul Bernal (Lapido, 091, Quique González), both have assembled the songs through very few elements, looking for an organic sound full of truth, close, honest In short, thinking only about what matters: music.

«I really wanted to work on a record that was basically focused on the songs. The way the industry works today, there are many things that a musician must do in addition to composing, for example, constantly selling himself, creating expectations… Me, due to the personal moment that I have lived (among other issues, she has just become a mother) I didn’t want that game, but I did want to work with Raúl Bernal on these songs for the pleasure of making music, of sharing it, for myself, for living the experience from the tranquility that precisely not having expectations gives me».
After a few eventful years participating in festivals such as Europa Sur, Womad (Cáceres and Charlton Park), Contempopránea, BIME City Live Bilbao or the Medellín Book and Culture Festival (Colombia)and with several awards to his credit (Best Artist extremena at the 2013 and 2019 Pop-Eye Awards, winner of the Rock Villa de Madrid Awards for Best Band, Sol Música Award…), This album is a return to the origins of Chloé Bird, «at the beginning, without thinking about numbers or sales, simply because what I do fascinated me and continues to fascinate me. I have enjoyed the process, I have experienced it serenely for the first time in many years”, confesses the artist.
In fact, his first live shows after this ‘Parenthesis’ will continue to be guided by that same conciliatory spirit with the essence of musical creation. Are four intimate concerts, of small format, in the Hotel Don Manuelon July 8 and 29, and August 12 and 26, each of them with different content, in a great review of his six recordings.
