Chivas debuted broadcasts with Amazon with a resounding victory. Guadalajara beat Bravos 5-0 to reach four games without losing after six rounds of the Liga MX Clausura 2024 tournament.
The agreement with Amazon breaks with a tradition that linked the red-and-whites with Emilio Azcárraga Jean’s company. Chivas first worked with Televisa from 1963 to 1974, when it transferred its rights to the now-defunct Imevisión.
Afterwards, it alternated its broadcasts with Televisa and TV Azteca until the 1995 season, when it agreed to an exclusive contract with the Chapultepec television station. However, in 2016 it ended that agreement to open the Chivas TV channel, which at that time was not successful and it had to return to conventional companies.
Thus, he was with Televisa from 2019 until now, when he accepted a four-year proposal to be one of the first Liga MX teams to work with the international Amazon.
