Chirping. Hacker threatens to sell the data of 400 million users

A hacker threatens to sell the data of 400 million Twitter users extracted through a vulnerability that has already been fixed. The information became known through the hacking forum Breached.

The cybercriminal in charge of collecting the data of these users and making them known in this space, calling himself GOD User, has ensured that he acquired them in 2021 and early 2022 and offers them in exchange for 200,000 dollars.

According to the hacker, of the 400 million user data he allegedly owns and has put up for sale, many belong to verified accounts, which means they could belong to celebrities, politicians or companies.

Among some of the accounts mentioned by the BleepingComputer portal are names such as businessman Kevin O’Leary, son of Donald Trump, security researcher Brian Krebs, and US House of Representatives activist and politician, Alexandria Ocaso – Cortez.

Of all of them, as well as other anonymous users and without verified accounts, it was possible to access their names, phone numbers, email addresses, number of followers and even the date on which those accounts were created.

As seen in Breached, this same hacker warned Elon Musk that he would have to buy the data, as he risks a fine for violating the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
