Before Bugatti went into production of a sharper version of Chiron, it took the pre-production prototype to the well-known circuit in Nardò, where another phase of testing and tuning took place.

As a reminder, the Pur Sport version is supposed to be a sportier variant of Chiron, more agile and more manoeuvrable. Although the performance has not changed compared to the standard car, so the four-turbocharged eight-liter sixteen-cylinder gives 1,500 horsepower, but the engine can now be rotated up to 6,900 rpm, 200 more than before.
The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission has been modified, allowing it to accelerate from 60 to 120 km / h almost two seconds faster than the original model.
Bugatti also tried to design the car as lightly as possible, there is talk of saving 50 kilograms. For this reason, the tailpipe is titanium (consisting of 3D printing), new are also magnesium wheels, which in themselves reduce the unsprung weight by 16 kilograms. Add to that the lighter brake pads and brake discs.

And, of course, there were also modifications to the chassis. There are stiffer springs, and adaptive shock absorbers have been tuned. Carbon stabilizers then minimize body tilts. We should not forget the new Bugatti Sport Cup 2 R tires developed in cooperation with Michelin. The existing driving modes are then complemented by the Sport + mode, in which case the electronics on a dry surface intervene in the steering later.
The sportier character is matched by a more aggressive look, which is also more aerodynamically efficient. Wide air intakes in the front bumper bring enough fresh air to the radiator, while the front “lollipop” increases the front axle pressure. At the rear, the pressure generates not only a distinctive diffuser, but also a gigantic pressure spoiler 1.9 meters wide.
On the Nardò circuit, the prototype was tested by factory test driver Andy Wallace, who obviously (and naturally) did not spare the car at all. He even got all the bikes in the air in one place, so he flew through Chiron a bit.

The former competitor was satisfied with the result of the testing. “Even though I’ve been doing this job for years, I haven’t been to Nardò yet. I like it here. The Chiron Pur Sport is extremely agile when driving on normal roads, but it’s still comfortable enough. The chassis and steering are set perfectly, the steering is straight, the chassis is rigid but not overly hard, “Wallace said.
As is the case with Bugatti, the production of Chiron Pur Sport will be limited to 60 copies. The basic price is three million euros, which is almost 80 million crowns. We are still talking about the amount without tax. Production will start in the fall.
