Chipset Competition, AnTuTu Snapdragon 875 Score Surprise Predecessors and Competitors

TEMPO.CO, JakartaQualcomm has prepared the latest chipset, Snapdragon 875, which is coded with the name Lahaina. Its performance test with AnTuTu Benchmark software gave a speed score of 847,000. Compare this with the score of its predecessor, the Snapdragon 865, which is around 663,000.

The difference in performance of 25 percent is considered a very surprising big jump for a chipset update that is only a year apart. Of course, these results still need confirmation before the team at Qualcomm can celebrate.

In comparison, the iPhone 12 chipset scored 565,000 on AnTuTu. The Kirin 9000 and Exynos 1080 scored 696,000 and 693,000 respectively. Those two scores are enough to surpass the Snapdragon 865 but can be met with a landslide by 875.

Interestingly, the AnTuTu list is currently topped by the Snapdragon 865 chipset (vanilla chip, not a plus). The reason the team at AnTuTu is that RAM and storage space configuration also affect the final score.

That’s why UFS 3.1’s high-capacity stash might make up for the speed deficit in non-plus chipsets Snapdragon 865.

Qualcomm is expected to officially release the Snapdragon 875, and if the test results are to be believed, it means the release is worth the wait.
