Jakarta –
Singapore so happy, the increase in tourists is seen to double in 2023. There is a big role for +62 residents, but apparently it is not as strong as China.
Reporting from Vietnam Express on Saturday (3/2), the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) made the latest report on tourist spending in Singapore. The only champions are Chinese tourists.
“Chinese tourists spent a total of SGD 2.3 billion or around Rp. 26 trillion on holidays to Singapore, this makes them the biggest spenders in Singapore,” reported STB.

Meanwhile, +62 residents had to settle for being in second place with total spending of SGD 2.2 billion, followed by Australia. In total, there will be 13.6 million tourists entering Singapore in 2023.
Even so, Indonesia should still be proud because it is in first place as Singapore’s largest tourist contributor.
This figure is in line with tourism estimates and targets. Indonesia is at the top in terms of the largest number of tourists with 2.3 million. Below Indonesia there are China and Malaysia with 1.4 million people and 1.1 million people respectively.
“Other major markets that recorded a recovery were Australia, South Korea and the United States,” he answered.
This increase is supported by tourists staying longer than before the pandemic. The average tourist stays 3.8 days in 2023.
“Strong performance in 2023 signals a promising tourism recovery, in line with increasing flight capacity and growing international travel demand,” said STB Chief Executive Melissa Ow.
Tourism revenues are estimated to reach between SGD 24.5 billion-26 billion or around IDR 305 trillion. This figure exceeds STB estimates which range between SGB 18 billion-21 billion.
