A group of graduate students in China has come up with a shocking claim. They reveal that they have developed an “invisibility suit” that makes the human body disappear from security cameras. The overcoat can be worn day or night, even hiding the human body from artificial intelligence (AI) enabled security cameras.
The name of the suit is InvisDefense coat. The cloak can be seen by the human eye, but is constructed in such a way that it is covered in a pattern that can blind cameras.
Miraculous Clothing uses two techniques to make the human body invisible to cameras. Custom prints will help the coat avoid catching camera eyes during the day. Meanwhile, the cloak emits unusual heat signals during the night to confuse human recognition cameras through infrared thermography.
The project was overseen by Professor Wang Zheng of Wuhan University’s School of Computer Science. “Today, many surveillance devices can easily recognize human bodies. Street cameras also have pedestrian recognition systems. Smart cars can recognize pedestrians, roads and obstacles. Our InVisDefense will allow the camera to catch you, but it cannot recognize if you are human,” – Professor Wang was quoted by the South China Morning Post as saying. The report says.
The InvisDefense coat costs just under $70. “The Invis Defense can be used effectively in battlefield anti-drone combat or man-machine combat,” added Professor Wang.
