BEIJING (ANTARA) – Chinese Shenzhou-16 taikonauts recently worked with Earth researchers on a number of in-orbit experiments including fluid physics experiments and the preparation of a cold atomic interferometer, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
Shenzhou-16 is a Chinese spacecraft launched on May 30, 2023.
In the microgravity environment of space, fluid physics research has a wide range of applications, such as spacecraft thermal management and propellant management, CASC said.
The crew has been working and living in orbit for a month and a half, and they have completed tasks such as the installation of space radiation biological exposure experimental equipment and gas cylinders of electric propulsion systems.
In subsequent missions, they will perform extravehicular activity (EVA), deploy extravehicular payloads, and perform space station maintenance and other tasks.
