/ world today news/ Chinese researchers have proposed a project for magnetic mini-robots that move up against the flow of blood along the cardiovascular system.
This project can help fight cardiovascular disease, which is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and approximately 80 percent of deaths are caused by heart attack and stroke.
Despite the many types of minirobots that have been developed for minimally invasive treatment of cardiovascular diseases, swimming against the fast flow of blood in blood vessels remains a huge challenge due to the lack of capability and the high fluid resistance of the blood.
To investigate the clinical potential of the new strategy, the researchers tested the robots’ ability to move inside pig blood vessels. They successfully passed through the system in 26 seconds, which confirms the potential of the project and supports future developments.
