TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – During the omicron variant of the covid-19 storm, a new virus appeared again. Scientist China found a virus named NeoCov what is claimed is a new variant of covid-19.

Otherwise, NeoCov is a virus originating from corona virus associated with Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS-CoV).
NeoCov is a close relative of the virus that causes the Middle Eastern respiratory tract infection, MERS-CoV and circulates among bats.

The virus is zoonotic, that is, corona virus it is transmitted between animals and humans, and can be transmitted through direct or indirect contact with animals.
In research published this week, Wuhan scientists warned that NeoCov or Neo Covid can cause problems, if transmitted from bat to humans.
The coronavirus, however, does not appear to be neutralized by human antibodies trained to target SARS-CoV-2, the causative virus Covid-19, maupun MERS-CoV.
