Chinese scientists create brain switches so humans are able to explore the vast space

JAKARTA – A group of scientists from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT) have conducted an extraordinary experiment to help humans explore the deepest space. They innovate to change brain which can be activated so that humans can hibernate during space adventures.

The space adventure, mentioned by Science Alert, takes a long time. Outer space is very vast while the technology available to human beings is very limited. This causes humans to take a long time to get to the end of space.

For example, it took the Voyager 1 spacecraft 73,000 years to reach Proxima Centauri, which is the closest star to the sun. Voyager 1 is known to have flown into space 40 years ago.

To date, Voyager 1 is the most distant man-made spacecraft to explore space. Voyager 1 is estimated to have already passed Pluto.

So indeed, exploring space requires a very big struggle for humans. One of them is the human ability to survive during this adventure. This is what makes SIAT scientists interested in finding solutions to make space exploration as far away as possible.

One way is to hibernate. The hibernation process, also known as torpor, is a physiological state that allows animals to survive adverse conditions. For example, extremely cold weather and a shortage of oxygen.

During hibernation, the body temperature will be very low. Likewise with the body’s metabolism which works slowly. Puts the body into maintenance mode. Minimum to stay alive while preventing atrophy.

Hibernation can only be found in some warm-blooded animals and some mammals. But not in primates. Especially in humans.
