Chinese scientists announced the discovery of the ancient “dragon man”

Scientists in China have discovered a unique skull. They suggested that the find could belong to some unknown human species. The Chinese called him Homo longi or “dragon man”. The publication Lenta.ru writes about this with reference to articles in several scientific journals.

Scientists concluded that the skull belonged to a fifty-year-old man. This man was tall, had a massive head, a bulging nose and large eyes. Analysis of the bone showed that the creature lived on earth 146 thousand years ago. At the same time, Chinese scientists argue that this branch is much closer to Homo Sapiens than Neanderthals.

The history of the discovery of the skull is worthy of a separate story. Back in the 30s of the last century, workers dug it out during the construction of a bridge over the Songhua River in Harbin. They were afraid that the unique find would fall into the hands of Japanese invaders and hid the skull in an abandoned well. Three years ago, one of those workers, already a hundred years old, told his grandson about the relic. The artifact was recovered and donated to the Geosciences Museum of Hebei University.
