In today’s “Xbox Partner Preview” program, The Chinese Room revealed the survival horror game “Still Wakes the deep” currently under development. The game is currently scheduled to be launched on Xbox Series X|S and other platforms in 2024, and will Join the Game Pass lineup for players to experience.
Still Wakes the deep is a survival horror adventure game inspired by classics such as the 1972 film The Poseidon Adventure. In this game, an oil drilling platform where an accident occurred will be used as the stage. Players will control the protagonist “Cameron McLeary” to go on an exploration adventure and find an escape from this oil drilling platform that is surrounded by dangers due to accidents.

In addition, the game will also make use of the creative idea of ”Annihilation” as the main art visual. Through the visual performance of light and shadow contrast, combined with the horror emotional experience brought by the use of various natural sounds, players can be more immersed in this game. In the game, explore this closed and dark environment with multiple floods together with the protagonist, and use various sound effects to bring a more frightening horror experience.
