The fall of the “uncontrolled Chinese rocket” was confirmed in the early hours of Sunday (09). According to Chinese state media, most of the rocket burned and was destroyed on re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.
The information indicates that the reentry happened at 12:24 am and did not reach any inhabited area. As expected, the reentry region was in the Indian Ocean, west of the Maldives Islands. At the time of the closing of this news, official images had not yet been released.
Despite the uproar caused by the news of the fall, experts had warned that the chances of debris reaching some populated area was very low, since most of the Earth’s surface is covered by water.
