Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang: Bulgaria is a factor in the Balkans – 2024-09-16 02:59:03

/ world today news/ In recent years, Bulgaria has emerged as a serious factor in the Balkans, and therefore we would suggest that one of the next meetings of the heads of government of “16+1” be held in Sofia.

This was stated by the Chairman of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang at a meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, who participated in the fifth meeting of the heads of state and government of China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, held in Riga.

“I would not allow myself to miss this meeting, because I consider that during the past four years, the 16+1 format has proven to be an effective and fruitful mechanism of interaction between China and Central and Eastern Europe. In Bulgaria, after our last meeting in 2015, we are already witnessing the first real results of our cooperation”, noted Borisov.

The main topics in the talks between the two prime ministers were the possibilities for cooperation in agriculture, transport, infrastructure, etc. Li Kuqian reported that there is a growth of Bulgarian products on the Chinese market and stated that he sees great export potential in essential oils – especially rose oil, agricultural and food products – milk and milk products, meat, tobacco, etc. “We count on the Chinese authorities to assist in speeding up the procedures for importing Bulgarian agricultural and food products into China for a faster and better exchange of goods between the two countries,” said Boyko Borisov.

China is our primary partner. Industry is also an important sector by which we can find a cross-section. Chinese investors in Bulgaria are increasing and our desire is to attract more companies to the Bulgarian economy, because here we have traditional advantages in sectors such as mechanical engineering, electronics and electrical engineering, information and communication technologies, chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. We count on the authorities in China to encourage Chinese companies to invest in Bulgaria”, emphasized Prime Minister Borisov.

The Chairman of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Li Keqiang, expressed his satisfaction with the successful hosting of the meeting of the capital mayors in Sofia, held in September 2016, and the activity of the Center for Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture of 16+1 in Bulgaria. For his part, Borisov invited Li Kutsian to an official visit to Bulgaria.
