[New Delhi]Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivered a speech at the Group of 20 (G20) summit on the 9th, saying, “All countries should work together to restore the global economy.” This was reported by state news agency Xinhua News Agency. Chinese President Xi Jinping was absent from the G20 and Li was sent to attend.

Mr. Li prefaced this by saying that Mr. Xi is advocating the “Global Development Initiative,” a concept for international cooperation, and said, “All countries should unite.”

Regarding China’s economy, he emphasized that it is “proceeding with opening up and can contribute to the sustainable development of the world.” This is an effort to allay concerns in each country about the economic downturn. At the same time, he emphasized that China is pursuing a development model called “Chinese-style modernization,” which is different from that of Europe and the United States.
