Shein and Temu, two Chinese online stores, are at each other’s throats in the United States. According to Temu, which has gone to court, its competitor allegedly uses intimidating mafia practices.
Shein says to news channel CNN that it will vigorously defend itself against the accusations.
The two online stores specialize in selling clothing at low prices, although other products are also available. The online stores are involved in a fierce battle, including in the US.
It is not the first time that both companies have found themselves in a legal battle in the US. Last year, Shein took its competitor to court because Temu allegedly used influencers to smear Shein. Temu then went to court last July because Shein allegedly abused its market position.
The two online stores have only been active on the American market for a relatively short time. Shein started there in 2019, Temu only entered that market last year. Both companies are also active in the Netherlands.
