BEIJING, Jan. 5, 2024 (Xinhua) – Data from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce showed that the volume of services trade imports and exports grew by 9 percent year-on-year in the first 11 months of 2023.
The volume of services trade exceeded 5.89 trillion yuan (about 829.61 billion US dollars) during the January-November period last year, according to the ministry.
The volume of imports from services trade grew by 23.5 percent year on year, reaching 3.48 trillion yuan, while the volume of exports fell by 6.8 percent year on year, reaching 2.41 trillion yuan.
Trade in knowledge-intensive services in China maintained steady growth during the aforementioned period, rising by 8.3 percent, reaching 2.44 trillion yuan.
Services related to the travel sector also recorded notable growth, rising by 73.5 percent year on year, reaching a value of more than 1.31 trillion yuan.
The value of exports and imports of travel services expanded by 56 percent and 74.9 percent, respectively, year on year.
