Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in Beijing for Economic and Trade Cooperation.

BEIJING, May 31 (Xinhua) — Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday in Beijing.

The two sides had extensive and in-depth exchanges on topics including economic and trade cooperation between China and the United States and the development of Tesla in China.

The Chinese and US economies are deeply complementary, Wang said, adding that the two sides should strengthen dialogue and cooperation in economy and trade in accordance with the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation.

He added that global economic development and human progress require open cooperation in science and technology.

Musk spoke highly of China’s vitality and development potential, expressing full confidence in the Chinese market.

He also expressed willingness to deepen win-win cooperation.
