The Chinese medical team deployed in Guinea-Bissau on Friday offered a batch of medicines and medical equipment to the regional hospital of Canchungo, located in the region of Cacheu (north).
The equipment consists, among others, of surgical, pediatric, orthopedic and respiratory assistance devices.
“This humanitarian and solidarity gesture is a breath of fresh air for the population of the Cacheu region,” welcomed the regional health official, Herculano Biaguê, upon receiving the donation. It “will have a positive impact and will improve the working conditions of health professionals at the regional hospital”, welcomed, for his part, the administrator of the hospital, Bernardo Gomes.
He also urged the doctors of the regional hospital to take advantage of the presence of Chinese doctors to improve their knowledge in order to better treat the sick.
