/ world today news/ The total number of people diagnosed and treated for respiratory diseases in China continued to fall for another week, medical authorities reported.
The data show that in the past week, the sick were 8.2% less compared to the reported number of sick a week earlier. That’s a 30 percent drop from this year’s peak in registered respiratory illnesses, National Health Commission spokesman Mi Feng said at a press conference.
Local medical facilities played a crucial role in providing health care during this fall-winter season, when cases began to rise.
“The volume of people diagnosed and treated for respiratory diseases remains stable, the latest health monitoring data shows a downward trend,” added Fu Wei, a representative of the health commission.
40% of respiratory patients in the country are treated in local medical facilities, Fu summarized.
