Chinese (hp) mobile phone manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Huawei and iQOO delayed the launch of their new product in droves to early December 2023. Why?
As mentioned by detikInet, Xiaomi, Huawei and iQOO are planning to launch their new product in the near future. Like the Xiaomi 13 which will be launched on December 1st, then the iQOO 11 series and Neo7 SE which will be launched on December 2nd.
Other than that, there is also MediaTek, a Taiwanese chip maker that delayed the launch of Dimensity 8200, also on December 2, detikINET quoted from GSM Arena on Thursday (1/12/2022).
However, all have compactly postponed their product launches to pay tribute to the death of Jiang Zemin, the former general secretary of the Communist Party of China, who is also the former president of China.
“We apologize and inform you that the launch of Xiaomi 13 will be postponed. We will notify you as soon as the new launch date is confirmed,” wrote Xiaomi on Weibo.
The other three companies also posted similar things on their respective Weibo pages.
Zemin has died at the age of 96 and the Chinese government mandated that the flag be flown at half-mast from Wednesday (11/30) local time until the late Zemin’s funeral was held, the date of which is not still been defined determined.
China’s Xinhua news agency earlier reported that Zemin died at the age of 96 on Wednesday (11/30) local time. While serving as President of China in the 1980s, Jiang led China through a transformative era and into the new millennium.
“Jiang Zemin died of leukemia and multiple organ failure in Shanghai at 00:13 local time on November 30, 2022, at the age of 96, announced Wednesday,” China’s Xinhua news agency reported.
