US cybersecurity firm says Chinese hackers targeted Indonesian navy

Insikt said that over the past nine months hackers infiltrated various government and military organizations using viruses that are still part of malware such as Funnydream and Chinoxy. The special device is not publicly available and is used by groups believed to be sponsored by the Chinese government.
Insikt added that the attacks were also linked to the Chinese government’s economic and political goals. This confirms Beijing’s allegations of sponsoring the hackers.
“We believe this activity is very likely to be carried out by state actors because monitoring targets for long-term infiltration in high-value government and political targets is consistent with cyber-espionage activity, coupled with identified technical links to activities known to be sponsored by the Chinese government,” said Insikt. , Thursday (9/12).
