Beijing: The Communist Secretary of Xinjiang, Ma Xingrui, said that the introduction of Islam to China is necessary in Xinjiang, which is a Muslim-majority region of China.
Everyone knows that Islam should be Chineseized in Xinjiang. “This is an inevitable trend,” Ma Tsingrui was quoted as saying by Reuters. He was speaking to journalists on the occasion of the Parliament’s annual meeting in Beijing on Thursday.
Many human rights organizations have criticized the Chinese government’s anti-Islamic activities in Xinjiang, despite destroying Muslim mosques and imprisoning believers. Prominent people have opined that this is a violation of religious freedom and a cultural invasion. A group of Muslim imams, Jewish rabbis, Christian bishops and cardinals compared the situation in Xinjiang to the Holocaust.
The U.S. Department of the Interior also pointed out that Uyghur Muslims are being held in mass detention camps by the Chinese Communist government and subjected to surveillance and torture. However, despite the Chinese government’s claim that the detention camps have been closed, thousands of Uyghur Muslims, both men and women, are reportedly still in detention camps or prisons.
