At it, China’s Permanent Representative Chen Xu drew the attention of other countries to three points: first, the urgency of efforts to end the fire and violence; second, solving the health crisis must be a priority; and third, the implementation of the two-state solution – Palestinian and Israeli – is fundamental to breaking out of the spiral of violence.
It is necessary to resume the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks as soon as possible, move towards the real implementation of the two-state solution, and realize the Palestinian right to self-determination and the return of refugees to their homes, Cheng Xu said.
Since the beginning of the current conflict between Israel and Hamas, China has been providing Palestine and UN bodies with financial aid, as well as food and medicine for the Gaza Strip, through various channels, the diplomat added.
