China’s State Railway Expects 20% Increase in Labor Day Travel, Adding 1,800 Extra Trains.

The State Railway of China expects passengers to take a total of 120 million trips during the Labor Day holiday, a 20 percent increase from 2019.

As of 8:00 a.m. Thursday (April 27), China sold a total of 69.08 million train tickets. Routes from Beijing – Shanghai, Chengdu, Sichuan – Xi’an, Shaanxi, Wuhan, Hubei – Shanghai

The report states that The China Railways Department has added 1,800 more trains to accommodate transportation during the Labor Day holiday. 21% increase from 2019

Average daily traffic on expressways across the country is expected to reach 54.3 million vehicles, up 77 percent.

Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) said on Wednesday it expected 831,900 passenger trips, equivalent to more than 160,000 passenger trips each day. Beijing Daxing International Airport is expected to handle more than 615,000 passenger trips.
