China’s State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Report Record Profits in First Half of 2023

BEIJING, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) — Data released by the Ministry of Finance on Monday showed that total profits of China’s state-owned enterprises reached about 2.38 trillion yuan (333.49 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2023, up 5 percent year on year.

The data showed that during the cited period, Chinese state-owned enterprises’ business revenue reached 41.02 trillion yuan, up 4.9 percent year on year.

The ministry stated in a statement issued on its website that the main performance indicators related to state-owned companies showed that those companies are recovering for the better.

The data in the monthly bulletin issued by the ministry focuses on state-owned enterprises across the country, with the exception of those in the financial sector.
