“China is thus demonstrating its great-power independence. They say, ‘we shouldn’t be told here what and how to do.’ They seemed to react to other proposals that were made earlier,” Fesenko explained.
He adds that China has begun its peace mission and will continue to do so.
“In the statements of the G7, certain expectations are placed on China. It can at least deter Russia from further aggressive actions, if not put pressure on it,” the political scientist sums up.
