BEIJING, Sept. 11, 2023 (Xinhua) – China’s land logistics price index recorded a monthly increase in August amid continuous improvement in supply and demand for land transportation.
The index came in at 102.5 last month, up 0.05 percent from the previous month, according to a survey conducted by the China Logistics and Purchasing Federation and Guangdong Linan Logistics Group.
Sub-indices for all vehicle types rose on a monthly basis. The figure for full truck logistics, which mainly measures bulk goods and regional transport, rose 0.05 percent from July to 102.7.
Demand for road transport recorded a steady recovery in August, driven by continued growth in the internal momentum of economic performance. Supply capacity also gradually recovered as the impact of bad weather weakened and the traditional peak season approached, according to the survey.
In reference to the approaching peak production and construction season, as well as the expansion of the consumption market, the survey expected that the index may rise amid mild fluctuations in the future. /end of news/
