The two documents show that in 2022, macro-level control over Chinese manufacturing has strengthened, as a result of which it has withstood the impact of unexpected factors and the country has made steady progress in building a manufacturing powerhouse.
For the period 2020-2022, China’s manufacturing capacity development index registered an average annual growth of 4 points, equal to that of the United States. This ranks China at the top of this indicator in the world.
However, the reports indicated that uncertainties still exist in the manufacturing sector and a wide gap remains between China and advanced economies in terms of innovative efficiency, industrial base and equipment production. The country should push forward under the conditions of stable growth and unswervingly implement the strategy of building a strong country in manufacturing, following the ideas of Chinese-style industrialization.
