China’s domestically developed passenger aircraft enters the overseas market

SHANGHAI, Dec. 18 (XINHUA) — China’s domestically developed ARJ21 regional airliner was delivered on Sunday to its first overseas customer, Transnosa, an Indonesian airline, making it China’s first passenger aircraft.

The delivered aircraft is designed with 95 seats, all in economy class. Its exterior is painted blue, yellow and green, according to the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Co., Ltd. (COMAC).

China’s domestically developed ARJ21 regional aircraft has a range of up to 3,700 km, as the aircraft can fly in alpine and highland areas and adapt to different airport conditions.

COMAC said that nearly 100 ARJ21 aircraft have been delivered to customers to date, operating more than 300 airways to more than 100 cities and carrying more than 5.6 million passengers.
