This was announced on Thursday, May 18, at a meeting of the UN Security Council by China’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the organization Geng Shuang.

The Chinese diplomat also pointed to the risk of spreading Western military equipment around the world.

“The continuous delivery of weapons to the battlefield will create a huge risk of proliferation. Geng Shuang said that under the current conditions, everyone needs to promote the political settlement of the conflict as quickly as possible, create conditions for the parties to return to negotiations and “ceasefire and hostilities.”

“There is no military solution to the Ukrainian crisis. Dialogue and negotiations are a fundamental way to restore peace,” Geng Shuang said.
