China’s Cumulative Installed Power Generation Capacity Reaches 2.74 Billion Kilowatts with 11.5% Year-on-Year Growth: National Energy Administration Report

National Energy Administration: As of the end of July, the country’s cumulative installed power generation capacity was about 2.74 billion kilowatts, an increase of 11.5% year-on-year

On August 17, the National Energy Administration released the national power industry statistics from January to July.

As of the end of July, the country’s cumulative installed power generation capacity was about 2.74 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 11.5%. Among them, the installed capacity of solar power is about 490 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 42.9%; the installed capacity of wind power is about 390 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 14.3%.

From January to July, the cumulative average utilization of power generation equipment across the country was 2,079 hours, a decrease of 54 hours compared with the same period of the previous year. Among them, 1578 hours of hydropower, 523 hours less than the same period of last year; 780 hours of solar power, 42 hours less than the same period of last year; 1416 hours of wind power, 112 hours more than the same period of last year; 4440 hours of nuclear power, 100 hours more than the same period of last year ; 2573 hours of thermal power, an increase of 96 hours over the same period last year.

From January to July, the investment in power projects of major power generation enterprises across the country was 401.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 54.4%. Among them, solar power generation was 161.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 108.7%; nuclear power generation was 43.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 50.5%. Power grid projects completed an investment of 247.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.4%.
