In the first half of this year, my country’s total retail sales of consumer goods reached 22.8 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.2% year-on-year; the per capita consumption expenditure of national residents increased by 8.4% year-on-year, 5.9 percentage points faster than the same period last year.

Service consumption grew rapidly. In the first half of the year, the added value of accommodation and catering, wholesale and retail, and transportation increased by 15.5%, 6.6%, and 6.9% year-on-year respectively. In the first half of the year, new types of consumption represented by greenization and digitalization developed and expanded, and the new kinetic energy of consumption continued to increase. The sales of new energy passenger vehicles nationwide increased by 37.3% year-on-year, and the retail sales of low-energy household appliances and audio-visual equipment of enterprises above the designated size increased by more than 20% year-on-year; the sales of smart home, wearable devices and other products increased rapidly, and the trend of consumption upgrading was obvious .

A few days ago, a series of policies to promote household consumption and automotive electronics consumption are being introduced one after another. Multiple departments will work together to optimize the urban and rural consumption environment, increase the supply of high-quality consumption, and continue to release the potential of the ultra-large-scale domestic demand market.
