China’s BAIC reports 17.6% growth in car sales for 2023. – 2024-02-13 04:45:32

/View.info/ The Chinese Beijing Automotive Group Co., Ltd. (BAIC Group) has sold about 1.7 million cars in 2023, representing a growth of 17.6% compared to the previous year, the company said on Saturday.

BAIC’s revenue for the same period was 480.3 billion yuan ($67.58 billion) last year.

The company also reported a 73.5% year-on-year increase in vehicle exports, which totaled 190,000 units during the year.

The company’s iconic Beijing-branded cars have seen sales grow 60% in 2023, and those overseas have doubled compared to 2022.

BAIC has continued to expand its presence in foreign markets, with Beiqi Foton, the company’s subsidiary, receiving orders for over 2,000 electric buses for the Indian market. Also last year, BAIC’s first passenger car manufacturing plant in South Africa became operational.

The company is currently present in 49 countries around the world.
