5G phones are 86.3% of total phone shipments in the country. This is according to the latest official statistics from the Chinese Academy of Information and Communication Technology, a research institute under the Ministry of Industry and Informatization
In September, 20 new models of 5G phones were launched in the country. Total handset sales for the month reached 33.28 million units, up 59% from a year earlier. Local brands continue to dominate with sales of nearly 25 million units, accounting for 75% of the market.
