China won the International Space Station again?US media: Attract scientists from around the world to conduct space experiments | Blog posts

Some American media recently described that the International Space Station is closed to people, while the Chinese Space Station is free and open.

On Dec. 12, the New York Times published an article titled “Why Many Scientists Choose to Conduct Research on the Chinese Space Station.”

The article emphasized that the International Space Station was the only space platform operating in orbit, equipped with modern facilities for scientific research, including space laboratories capable of carrying out large-scale multidisciplinary basic and applied science research. However, the International Space Station is jointly operated by the national space agencies of the United States, Russia, Europe, Japan and Canada, and laboratory resources have been busy for a long time. On the contrary, as the first space station project open to United Nations member states in history, China’s space station offers experimental opportunities to scientists from all over the world. Currently, 9 projects from 17 countries and 23 entities have become the first batch of projects selected for the Chinese space station science experiments.

The article recalls that in 2016, the China Space Station signed an agreement with the United Nations “Global Shared Space” project, providing scientists from around the world with the opportunity to conduct experiments on the China Space Station. “Space for the World” is an initiative of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, in collaboration with various space agencies, research institutes and industry, with the aim of developing the technical knowledge, engineering procedures and infrastructure in the field of space exploration in the member states of the United Nations.
