BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) — China stands ready to work with Australia to create a favorable environment for bilateral trade and investment and boost business confidence of the two countries, the Ministry of Commerce said Thursday.
The mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between China and Australia is in line with the interests of the two peoples, said Shu Jueting, spokesperson for the ministry, at a press conference.
China is also willing to exchange ideas on some technical issues of interest to both sides and find solutions beneficial to both countries, added Shu.
China hopes to see Australia provide a fair, open and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese companies wishing to invest there, said Shu.
Commenting on the virtual meeting between Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and his Australian counterpart Don Farrell, Ms Shu said the meeting was an “important step” for the two sides to put bilateral economic and trade ties back on track. tracks.
