China’s working group dedicated to testing sixth-generation (6G) technology is already seeking to strengthen international cooperation in an effort to improve research and development of the system, the country’s Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jing Juanlong said during the 14- the Chinese General Assembly of People’s Representatives, BNR reported.
He said China currently has more than 575 million users of the fifth generation (5G) technology. The Chinese minister also highlighted that half of the country’s sectors, such as energy, mining, ports and large aircraft, use 5G technology.
Also during the parliamentary session, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said the government will increase its funding for the development of semiconductors and other industrial fields in 2023 by almost 50% compared to 2022 to 13.3 billion yuan (about 1 .9 billion dollars).
