China reacted strongly to the President’s visit Taiwan Tsai Ing Wen to New York, United States of America (AS). China said the visit could lead to a serious confrontation with the US.

“Taiwan’s relationship with the United States has never been closer,” Taiwan President Tsai Ing Wen said after arriving in New York City.
“Taiwan is facing tremendous challenges,” Tsai continued.
Tsai said the visit was a sign of solidarity as fellow democracies. He emphasized that Taiwan cannot be isolated, especially by China.
“We know that we are stronger when we stand together in solidarity with our fellow democracies. Taiwan cannot be isolated and we do not take friendship for granted,” Tsai said at a banquet with members of the Taiwanese-American community, according to footage from CNN affiliate SET TV. in Taiwan.
Meanwhile, Chinese Chargé d’Affaires Xu Xueyuan said Tsai’s visit to the United States was a serious form of confrontation. According to him, this will have a severe impact on relations between the two countries.
“Tsai’s transit in the US could cause a serious confrontation in US-China relations and have a severe impact on their relationship,” Xu Xueyuan told reporters in Washington on Wednesday.
He also said Tsai’s visit could damage China’s sovereignty. According to him, the US must bear all the risks of the visit.
“What the US has done seriously undermined China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the US must bear all the consequences,” Xu said.
