“We will strongly support companies to protect their rights and interests according to the law, and we reserve the right to take the necessary measures,” a spokesperson for the ministry said online in response to a request for press comment. on an executive order from the US president that bans transactions involving eight Chinese apps.
The US decision deviated from the principle of fair competition, violates international economic and trade rules and undermines normal market order, the spokesman noted, adding that it also harms the interests of consumers, including US users. , and weaken the confidence of global investors in the US business environment.
According to the spokesperson, the eight applications affected by the executive order of the President of the United States are widely welcomed by the market and consumers, and have facilitated contactless payment, people communication, and working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
US restrictions on apps will not help prevent and control the disease, or help the economy recover, the spokesperson added.
