China urges the US to lift semiconductor export controls

China has called for an end to US export controls on semiconductors to China.

The Chinese Commerce Ministry said in a statement the same day, expressing its strong opposition to US controls on semiconductor exports.

He also said the US decision harms the business interests not only of Chinese companies but also of US exporters.

A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry also criticized US export controls on Chinese semiconductor manufacturers on the 8th, which abused trade controls and were designed to maintain US “technological hegemony”.

Earlier, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced on the 7th a massive export control plan that restricts China’s access to all semiconductor chips made with U.S. technology.

As a result, the export to China of all foreign semiconductor-related companies using US technology in addition to US companies will be limited to China.
